On Chinese New Years day (7/5/99) Sifu Ip Chee Keung and Sifu Paul Whitrod gave an excellent demonstration of Kung Fu, held in Convent Garden with the visit of Grand Master Ip Sui. The seminar started with a thrilling lion dance by Hung Gar students of Sifu Paul Uglow, much to the delight of Grand Master Ip Sui. Next both master Whitrod and Ip Chee Keung displayed precise skill and power of the Chow's family Praying Mantis Kung Fu through various mantis forms.

Sifu Paul Whitrod and his students demonstrated both Mantis hand and weapon forms and training chongs with great skill. Sifu Ip Chee Keung demonstrated an advanced mantis form and demonstrated his "steel jacket" by taking punches from a member of the audience and amazingly withstanding full blown kicks to his groin!

Sifu Whitrod's senior students demonstrated a two-person fighting form at the Jade Palace restaurant made difficult by the lack of space. This however indicated the effectiveness of Chow Gar in close quarter combat.

Sifu Paul Whitrod next gave a display of the Poison Snake Pole Form and with great mastery managed to manipulate the 6 foot pole in a space not much bigger than the pole itself! Sifu Paul's senior student then demonstrated the dynamic Rabbit form.

Sifu Ip Chee Keung demonstrated his steel jacket by inviting customers to come up and hit him and ended the demonstration in the restaurant by placing 2 chopsticks on a table, upright against his throat. Sifu Paul Whitrod then used a powerful forearm strike to the back of Sifu Ip's neck, shattering the chop sticks…
